Catching up! Here’s what we did in November

November was quite a month.  We were busy every single weekend.

First, Ryan’s dad came to visit us.

He also made us an insane blackberry pie and taught me all about pie making.Image

Then my father came to visit.

He even surprised his mother with a super awkward but needed visit

Mega awkward hug time

Having survived that scary visit, we celebrated with pizza at 800 Degrees, our favorite neighborhood pizza spot.

Fortunately, I had the Sunday off, so we headed to the beach in Malibu.

That night, Ryan grilled and the father rediscovered Doom II on a 32 inch screen.

Our next weekend was dedicated to errands.  We dropped a bunch of donations at Goodwill and came home with a filing cabinet (which I’d been wanting for some time) and a wine rack.

And here was our wine situation before (in roach storage):

and after!

Glorious!

Despite Ryan’s protestations that not a scrap of Christmas decoration be displayed until after Thanksgiving, I got a head start.

And we couldn’t have the hibiscus wreath up in November! Up comes the Christmas one!

Spoiler alert: I also made this ridiculous festive fishing bobber garland. How to instructions coming soon!

We had a killer lunch with my cousin Laura and her husband Allen at Grandma’s

They made a mean quiche and some delicious soup

Georgia also beat Georgia Tech in overtime.

Ikea was visited and meatballs were consumed

Grandma turned 86 on Thanksgiving, and we ate turkey and birthday cake with her, Todd, and Thom

And Ryan made his dad’s pumpkin pie

Also, I got new glasses.  Just for computer screens and music stands.

And we did put up our tree.  Right after Thanksgiving.

And just like that, it was December.  Image
